It is the specialty of dentistry that has as its objective to attach in the mandible or maxilla an implant that will serve as support for unitary, partial, removable prostheses or total dentures. These implants have the function of replacing the missing teeth.
Implants are fixed or removable prostheses, held in position by pins that are integrated into the bone. During the treatment, between the placement phase of the implant and the final crown, the patient must use a temporary crown to conserve space and aesthetics. The duration of the implant is the same as a natural tooth, provided it is used correctly.
